On 30 June 2020, the International Federation for the Roofing Trade (IFD) announced in its latest newsletter that Pascal Civati would be the new General Secretary of the IFD as of 1 July 2020. Mr. Detlef Stauch, the former Secretary-General of the IFD would take off the role on June 30, 2020.

Mr. Millar, President of IFD, made a highly remarks of our old friend Mr. Detlef Stauch: “Detlef has poured his heart and soul into our organization over the last 24 years and I do not know one President of the IFD who hasn’t benefited greatly from his experience and his all-round knowledge of the roofing industry. I cannot speak to highly of the man.”

The new General Secretary, Mr. Pascal Civati is Swiss, with rich experience of business management from 1st of April 2020 he has assigned deputy director for IFD-Service GmbH. As from the 1st of July he is taking into his role as the new General Secretary of IFD. He said : “I am looking forward to representing your interests and the interests of the IFD as Director and to personally meet you.”

Self-introduction of Pascal Civati

My name is Pascal Civati, I am Swiss, I am 53 years old, married and I live in Wil/St. Gallen in Switzerland. I graduated from the School of Commerce in Switzerland, and I speak German, French, English and Romanian. 

In 1992 I moved with my job to Romania. There I was involved in business management for several companies in the commercial vehicle sector. I was responsible for marketing, sales, as well as for organization and after-sale services for Scania, Krone trailers and several other brands. 

After many years of being abroad I moved back to Switzerland in 2018. I started to work for the Zurich section of SVIT, Swiss Association of the Real Estate Industry. Some of my responsibilities were: membership coordination, point of contact for members, support for students – professors, event organization, drafting reports of events, compiling information for internal and external branches. 

From 1st of April 2020 I have been assigned deputy director for IFD-Service GmbH. As from the 1st of July I am looking forward to representing your interests and the interests of the IFD as Director and to personally meet you.
