The International Federation of the Roofing Trade IFD will hold the IFD AWARD 2023 again this year. There are AWARDS in the following four categories:

1.Pitched Roof

These include: Roofing with roofing products e.g.: Roof tiles, roofing stones, slate, fibre cement roof panels, bitumen shingles, wooden shingles, thatch or straw. This does not include metal products and the load-bearing structure, e.g. roof trusses made of wood.

2. FLAT ROOF

By flat roof we understand for this competition: Roofs with waterproofing made of bitumen, plastic or elastomeric membranes or sheets and liquid waterproofing. Flat roofs do not necessarily have to be flat.

3. METAL ROOF

This is what we understand for this competition: Roof coverings on flat or steeply sloping roof surfaces made of small or large-format metal roofing products, e.g. corrugated metal sheets, strips and metal sheets on a wooden base, self-supporting small-format roofing products or trapezoidal sheets as a top layer or sandwich elements.

4. FACADE/EXTERNAL WALL CLADDING

Façade includes the entire area of covering or cladding of a vertical exterior wall with small-format or large-format products or elements, also with metal. Usually the products are ventilated, but industrial designs, e.g. with sandwich elements, are also included here. Walls, curtain walls or facing shells, e.g. made of brick or bonded clinker, do not belong to this category.

All roofing and façade companies that are members of one of our national member associations can take part! The application forms must be submitted by IFD full members or IFD cooperation partners as well as IFD partner members.

It must be proven that the executing company is a member of a corresponding IFD member.

The IFD board decides on exceptions.

All submissions should be for a project with a completion date between 1 September 2021 and 30 June 2023.

• No more than four projects per category may be submitted by one entrant.

• Each project needs its own fully completed submission form.

• A project with flowing transitions, e.g. from façade to roof with one material, may only be entered in one category (decision of the entrant).

• A building with clearly separated areas (e.g. flat roof with bitumen sheeting and façade with stone slabs) can be reported in several categories.

Please fill in all parts of the registration form. The company must be a member of one of the IFD member associations.

Only applications in English or German will be accepted.

Photos are essential for the application. Therefore it is necessary to send at least four, maximum 10 clear pictures in high resolution as JPEG file showing the performances in detail.

This is to give the jury the best opportunity to assess the performance.

The evaluation is carried out by the panel of independent experts from the IFD, a

Award ceremony:

In each category, three projects will be nominated as worthy of an award by the evaluation panel after the closing date but before the Congress. The nominees will be informed and can participate in the award ceremony. The objects of the nominees will be presented on display boards or similar throughout the IFD - Congress in Bolzano from 11 to 14 October 2023. The winner of each category will be announced at the festive evening on the occasion of the

IFD - Congress 2023 on Friday 13 October 2023 in Bolzano. The winners will receive their prizes from the IFD Board.
