The Seminar for Material Fireproof Technology of Roofing System convened by China National Building Waterproof Association (CWA) was held on 6th May, 2011 in Chengdu, Sichuan Province.

Four agreements have been reached through the seminar presided by Zhu Dongqing , President of CWA. First, the fire test methods for roofing materials and wall and other construction materials should be distinguished. Second, those experienced methods specified in EN, ASTM and ISO applied in Europe and US should be considered as references when drafting the burning testing methods for roofing materials. Third, the fire test methods for plane roof and sloping roof materials should be distinguished with regards to the angle of specimen. Fourth, fire resistance of waterproof products is required.

The status of GB 8624 reformulation and formulation of Testing Method for the Combustibility of Roofing Materials were introduced by Zhao Chenggang, Director of Sichuan Fire Research Institute (SCFRI) responsible for both GB standards.

Representatives from over 20 companies at home and broad like Sika Sarnafil, Dow Chemical, Bayer and Owens Corning and etc gathered and delivered presentation respectively.
