A 28 members delegation organized by China National Waterproof Building Materials Industry Association (CNWBMIA) has just attended NRCA's 2009 International Roofing Expo® and 122nd Annual Convention in Las Vegas from 2nd to 5th Feb 2009. 

During the NRCA international reception on 2nd Feb evening, the china delegation sufficiently communicated with other international guests from Japan Roofing Contractors Association, Central Association of German Roofing Contractors and etc.

 On 3rd Feb morning, the NRCA international relations committee meeting was held at Mandalay Bay Convention Center, Las Vegas. The current NRCA president Robert W. Therrien Jr. called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m. representatives of NRCA, Canada, Mexico, German, India, Japan, and China gave their reports respectively. Our association¡¯s president Zhu Dongqing as the representative of China gave the presentation of market status and development of China¡¯s roofing and waterproofing industry. A meeting between NRCA management and our association was held on 3rd Feb afternoon.     

After visiting SFS Intec, Inc., fastening systems factory and watching a wind uplifting test on 9th Feb at Wyomissing, a meeting was set up between their management and the delegation. 

5 Representatives of CNWBMIA went to Providence to visit FM Global Research Campus on 10th Feb. A presentation about FM approvals was given by Mr. Paris Stavrianidis (Vice President, General Manager) and Mr. George Smith (Assistant Vice President, Area Director-Materials), following a tour and demonstrations. The visit ended after a one hour discussion between experts from two sides.          

The 5 representatives of CNWBMIA arrived at Sika Sarnafil Inc. on 11th Feb. presentations on products & systems; recycling, TPO, PVC and FPO of Sika Sarnafil were presented by Mr. Stanley Graveline (Vice President-technical services). Following a plant tour, experts from two sides had a discussion.     

On 12th Feb, the delegation went to R&D Inc. at Chicago. Firstly, an introduction of laminated shingle manufacturing systems was presented. After a plant tour of a newly produced line under adjustment, members fully discussed with the experts.     

On 16th Feb, the delegation arrived at Beijing, successfully finishing 16 days of US studying tour.
